NASA IN ABERDEEN | INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION

Inspiring and attracting our young people to develop good STEM based knowledge and skills is essential for society to overcome the global challenges we will face in the future.
With NASA in Aberdeen we’re going to show you the excitement the many varied careers STEM can bring; be that in space, offshore or closer to home.

In Aberdeen Science Centre, and around Aberdeen city, join us 1-6 March to welcome NASA to Aberdeen. Space scientist Dr Sue Lederer and former astronaut Richard Heib will accompany us in a series of sessions, some for schools, some for community groups, and some for the public. of events designed to inspire the next generation. Rick and Dr. Lederer will also be joined by Hyang Lloyd, president and co-founder of the Scottish Space School Foundation USA who was part of the NASA team in the neutral buoyance underwater centre at Johnson Space Centre.
This is your chance to meet an astronaut and a space scientist who specialises in space debris (conducting hyper-velocity impact experiments on a regular basis)!
Public events are running on Friday 3 March, Saturday 4  March and Sunday 5 March.
Booking for the public lecture at Robert Gordon’s College on Friday 3 March is available through Aberdeen Performing Arts. Booking for Saturday 4 & 5 March ‘Meet The Astronaut’ session at Aberdeen Science Centre is available through Eventbrite.

PLEASE NOTE: The weekend events are now FULLY BOOKED. The science centre will only admit people with tickets prebooked online during this event.
