Join us for our Free Marine Discovery Day this Thursday (1st August)!

Marine Discovery Day is kindly sponsored by Scottish Fishermen’s Trust and Festival of the Sea.

Beach Clean 9am-11am
Kick-start your day with a beach clean led by the Turning the Plastic Tide team. Witness marine plastic pollution firsthand and take action on the science we’ll be exploring later in the day.

Beach Activities 10am-4pm
Head down to the beach before or after your visit to explore your local marine environment with Aberdeen Science Centre, Dolphin Watch, and Greyhope Bay who will help you understand and appreciate the marine life around us with hands-on activities like beach combing!

No need to book, just head to the main lower footpath by the Beach ballroom section of beach (what3words:/// reap.march.gifted) where you’ll see our banners on the beach!

At The Centre 10am-4pm
Discover how to keep our marine life, beaches, and seas healthy with our Workshop, including demos of the dangers of litter and a Microorganisms Safari!

Our friends from MacDuff Aquarium will be coming along to the centre with mobile touch pools and the Turning the Plastic Tide team will be extending their morning beach clean with an extra activity at the centre!

There’s no need to book (apart from the beach clean) and the day will be free for all. Donations to our charity are welcomed, and can be given to reception on arrival.
