Terms & Conditions

General Admission Tickets  

We sell tickets on our own behalf and on behalf of partner organisations. The quantity of tickets available for sale by us vary on an event-by-event basis. Tickets are generally sold online and in person at reception. Tickets for popular events may sell out quickly, it will be clearly advertised on our website and social media if an event is sold out.  

  • Before making a purchase, please carefully review your individual selection. Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded. If you would like your ticket rescheduled to an alternative date/time, please email info@asc.scot 
  • To purchase items from us online, you must be 18 or over and have a valid credit/debit card issued in your name.  
  • Any ticket holders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18.  
  • Tickets are not for resale.  
  • Your contract for the purchase of a ticket starts once we have confirmed your purchase and ends immediately after the completion of the visit. 
  • All purchases are subject to payment card verification and other security checks and your transaction may be cancelled if it has not passed our verification process.  
  • We reserve the right to cancel bookings which we reasonably suspect to have been made fraudulently.  
  • There are occasions on which our opening hours may vary. These will be displayed on our website and social media channels as soon as operationally possible. It is your responsibility to ensure that you read all notifications displayed on our website relevant to the date of your visit.  

    CARER TICKETS

    • Free carer tickets are available from reception only. They cannot be purchased online.  
    • You must show proof of eligibility to receive free admission. 
    • Accepted proof of eligibility include: 

                                  –  Access Card

                                  –  A Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance award letter. 

                                  –  Personal Independence Payment letter 

    • Without proof of eligibility full standard admission prices will apply.  

     

    ADMISSION AND ATTENDANCE

      • Visitors are expected to behave in a safe, respectful, and responsible manner at all times. Aberdeen Science Centre reserves the right to refuse admission or require any visitor to leave the premises if they fail to follow staff instructions, behave in a disruptive or unsafe manner, or cause damage to exhibits, property, or facilities. Any damage caused may result in liability for repair or replacement costs. 
      • Aberdeen Science Centre reserves the right to refuse admission should you breach any terms and conditions or behave in a manner that is disruptive to other attendees. CCTV is in operation throughout teh centre for purposes of safety, security and crime prevention. 
      • You may be subject to security searches prior to or during an event and may be asked, at a Duty Managers discretion, to leave if you appear to be under the influence. 
      • Every effort to admit latecomers will be made but admission cannot always be guaranteed at special events. 
      • Aberdeen Science Centre shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, power failure, industrial action, government restrictions, pandemics, or other circumstances outside our control. 
      • Children must be supervised at all times whist in the science centre. They will not be admitted into any shows or workshops without an adult present.  
      • Aberdeen Science Centre accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property while on the premises, except where required by law.  
      • We aim to make Aberdeen Science Centre accessible to all visitors. If you have specific access requirements or require assistance during your visit, please contact us in advance so we can make reasonable arrangements where possible. While we make every effort to ensure all facilities and exhibits are accessible, some exhibits may have physical or sensory limitations. 

      Cancellations  

        • Tickets are non-refundable, you may be able to change the date of admission at our discretion.  
        • Any ticket you purchase from us remains the property of Aberdeen Science Centre and may be withdrawn, and admission refused at any time.  
        • When you receive your tickets, please keep your order number safe.  
        • If an event is cancelled (and not rescheduled), you will be offered a refund of the sale price of your ticket(s).  
        • If an event is rescheduled, you will be offered tickets at any rescheduled event of a value corresponding with your original tickets. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, you will be offered a refund of the sale price of your ticket(s). You must inform us within the deadline set in communication about rescheduling.  
        • Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation or hospitality relating to the event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk. Aberdeen Science Centre shall not be liable to you for any loss of enjoyment or wasted expenditure.  
        • From time to time, exhibits, shows, or facilities may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or operational requirements. The temporary unavailability of any exhibit or facility does not entitle ticket holders to a refund or compensation. 

        Corporate tickets  

        If you purchase Corporate Ticket Entry you will be required to show proof that you are eligible to use this ticket upon arrival at Aberdeen Science Centre e.g. employee ID card or other proof of ticket, otherwise you will be charged full admission. 

        STEM Passports

        • If you have purchased a STEM Passport you are entitled to cancel it within 14 days of purchase.  Cancellation must be made by emailing info@asc.scot 
        • After 14 days your STEM Passport is non-refundable and non-transferable.  
        • STEM Passports can be used by the names passport holder(s) only.  
        • STEM Passports entitle the holder to free admission during advertised standard operating hours only.  
        • STEM Passport holders are not entitled to free entry on special events, but may be entitled to discounts (these will be advertised on our website and social media).
