Energy

Energy is Everywhere

Energy is all around us, it encompasses our everyday lives. We use different forms of energy throughout our day; we heat our homes; we use it to power our cars and public transport; we charge our mobile phones. But where does it come from? What forms of energy do we use today?

Join us at Aberdeen Science Centre and explore the ever-changing world of energy.

Here is a sneak peak of some of our Energy Zone exhibits:

Boy playing in Aberdeen Science Centre Energy Zone

Robothespian at Aberdeen Science Centre

Robothespian

Meet Robothespian, our very friendly, knowledgeable robot – sponsored by our Digital Futures partner, Equinor. You can programme his movement, speech, facial expressions and colour. He also loves to sing and remembers hits from across the ages..

Opito Theatre of Energy at Aberdeen Science Centre

Opito Theatre of Energy

The OPITO Theatre of Energy is the first immersive theatre of its kind in the UK and features three amazing experiences. The ‘Story of Energy’ show uses the latest projection mapping technology, providing an introduction to why having a mix of energy stores is shaped by people and our demand. You can ‘throw some shapes’ on our interactive Energy Wall and learn about the different stores of energy; and keep imaginary Aberdeen from blacking out in the avatar energy game.
