Space

To infinity, and beyond!
‘That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’ – do you know who famously said that when Apollo 11 touched down on the moon in 1969? Explore the outer reaches of space, beyond the moon, at Aberdeen Science Centre.
Outer space begins around 100km above our planet, it surrounds Earth and our solar system and is filled with stars, planets, galaxies as well as million and millions of particles, molecules, dust and gas. Our solar system alone has 8 planets, one dwarf planet, 194 moons, 3,583 comets and 796,289 asteroids! You only have a few hours at Aberdeen Science Centre, transform into an astronaut and explore the complex world of space.
Here is a sneak peak of some of our Space Zone exhibits:

Launch an Air Rocket
How do rockets take flight? Launch your own air rocket and find out how space rockets take off.

Look at Earth From Space
