With a huge summer of sport on the horizon headlined by Scotland’s return to the World Cup, join us at Aberdeen Science Centre from the 6th June for the Science of Sport!
Packed with fascinating workshops and hands-on activities throughout the centre, our new theme is perfect for anyone curious about what it takes to become an athlete.
What to Expect
Workshop: The Science of Sport
Take part in our interactive workshop and discover the science behind athletic performance. Through hands-on activities, you’ll explore topics including strength, endurance, balance, and nutrition.
Under 6s Session
Designed for our younger visitors, this fun story session will introduce different types of sports before children make their own hypotheses about how high various sports balls bounce. They’ll place their predictions on a giant ruler and test their ideas together.
There will also be colouring activities for little ones to enjoy.
Floor Activities
Around the centre, you’ll find:
- Informative posters exploring the science of sport
- Drop-in activities to try throughout your visit
- A World Cup wall chart, updated as the tournament progresses
Plan Your Visit
All activities are included with your entry ticket.
Running on weekends and throughout the school holidays in June 2026.
