Aberdeen Science Centre offers one of the most unique, inspiring and versatile venue options in Aberdeen. Available for exclusive venue hire, room hire, corporate, social and private events.
Every event held at the centre enables our STEM charity to continue working with schools and community groups across the North of Scotland, inspiring a lifelong interest in STEM through engaging experiences.
WHAT DOES ABERDEEN SCIENCE CENTRE OFFER?
Aberdeen Science Centre boasts a modern, fully accessible space with two purpose built meeting rooms, a breakout room, and a split level upper exhibition floor which can be redefined as a conference, exhibition or drinks reception space. Our event spaces are equipped with a range of high-spec AV and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Each event will have a dedicated event organiser at Aberdeen Science Centre who will arrange your catering through our catering partner and onsite cafe, Grub Fresh Food, if required. From light bites to banqueting and everything in between, your food will be freshly prepared using local suppliers.
Our exhibition floor offers a creative and entertaining space where guests can engage with over 65 interactive exhibits including talking with our chatty humanoid robot, visiting the one-of-a-kind immersive OPITO Theatre of Energy, building circuits and creating their own movies.
Located just a five-minute drive from the city centre, close to Aberdeen Beach, with free onsite parking we are an easy option for your guests. Each event held at Aberdeen Science Centre supports our educational charity, helping you meet your CSR goals.
OUR SPACES
Whether you’re hosting a board meeting or a conference, our versatile spaces offer the perfect solution. With capacity from 5 people to 200 people and flexibility to tailor to your needs.
Neutron and Proton Meeting Rooms
Neutron and Proton, within the Shell Learning Zone, can be used as one large space or as two independent rooms.
Our purpose-built meeting rooms offer a space that is ready to simply get started. That’s why we include all the below as standard when you hire the Neutron or Proton Rooms, both when they are combined and as separate spaces:
- Touchscreen with Clevershare technology (Proton includes high quality camera and speakers for hybrid meetings)
- Laptop if required
- Wireless presentation clicker
- Wi-Fi
- Flipchart and pens
- Delegate Stationery.
Neutron and Proton are available to hire as room only, with the Day Delegate Rate Package or you can create your own bespoke catering package using the Grub Catering Menu.

Whole centre
For larger events, we recommend hiring the whole Science Centre, giving you exclusive access to all areas. There are two large zones upstairs, Make It and Test It, which can be used flexibly to accommodate a wide range of events including conferences, exhibitions, networking, fundraisers, recruitment fairs, training days and so much more. You’ll also have access to the Neutron and Proton rooms, as well as the Lab and OPITO Theatre of Energy.
These unique spaces feature our science exhibits throughout, but for events requiring a larger amount of space, these can be moved to accommodate this.
The space is ready to simply get started. There is a dropdown screen and LCD projector in Make It and we have two handheld mics and two headset mics which you can use. For events in Test It, we recommend working with our AV partner, AV One to handle your tech needs.
The downstairs area of Aberdeen Science Centre offers an inviting welcome space with a variety of exhibits that serve as perfect icebreakers. This space can also be utilised to host welcome desks or host stallholders for exhibition events.
Hiring the whole science centre ensures exclusive use of the venue, as the centre will be closed to the public. This guarantees a private and uninterrupted experience for you and your guests.
